大規模な森林火災により甚大な被害がもたらされているオーストラリア。いまなお各国から救助支援や募金活動などが行われ、多くの著名人らも復興支援に乗り出す中、昨年＜ANA パース直行便 就航キャンペーン＞CMに起用された西島隆弘が、10万ドルの寄付をしたことが明らかとなった。

オフィシャルTwitterによると2つの支援団体に合わせて10万ドルを寄付したとあり、日本語と英語で支援の輪を呼びかけている。

昨年オーストラリアへ初めて行き、
素晴らしい景色と
優しい人達
可愛い動物達に出逢いました。

訪れたパース近郊は森林火災の影響はないようですが
オーストラリアの
素晴らしい環境が
これ以上失われないように、
そして
早急に復興を願うと共に
２つの支援団体に
気持ちを贈りました。

Last year I had a great privilege of being involved in All Nippon Airline Ad campaign that promoted flight from Tokyo Japan to Perth Australia. It was the first time that I ever visited Australia and was amazed at Australia’s beautiful natural landscapes. Moreover, I was able to meet the wonderful people of Australia and also meet the cute animals that lived there.

I pray that natural beauty of Australia will not be lost anymore and pray for a fast recovery. I have donated a total of AU $ 100,000 to two of the organizations in Australia that is helping the fire recovery.
